Change in Leadership

At a Traditional Gathering of the Citizens of the Ojibway Nation of Saugeen, held on June 20 and 21, 2019, the people chose new leadership according to their custom and Convention of 1997. The people selected Ron Machimity as their Chief, and Desiree Jacko, Joyce Medicine, Betty Necan, and Darlene Necan as their Headmen using the process set out in their Convention along with their customary practices.
